Learning at Edrington
Through our core and functional competencies framework, our aim is to give every employee a clear framework of what their job is and what the role competencies are to excel.
Our development philosophy is based on the 70/20/10 model of development, where 10% of learning is formal; 20% through social learning and 70% is through on the job experience.
Our award winning Edrington Academy puts world class development tools in the hands of employees. The Edrington Academy provides employees with a variety of options for employee development to ensure that they continue to learn in a fast and flexible way to suit their career development needs.
Emerging Talent Programme
At Edrington, we take talent development seriously. Our Emerging Talent Programme brings future leaders from our international offices to Scotland for a four day residential programme. Our programme focuses on building leadership capability and an opportunity to network with international colleagues, including the Board.
Edrington Edge is a collection of sales tools, best practice and training that gives Edrington sales representatives the edge, helping them to understand the needs of a customer’s business, identify issues and opportunities and represent Edrington’s premium brands brilliantly. The programme features training modules that cover every aspect of building positive customer relationships, including brand training, the premium spirits market, merchandising, account management and negotiation skills.
Early careers at Edrington
Edrington are proud to support a number of internships across all of our regional offices where we partner with local institutions, charities and social enterprises to provide young people with the opportunity to gain work experience, helping them to prepare them for the world beyond education.
We place a huge amount of value in apprenticeships and the benefits that these programmes can have for individuals as well as for our business. We offer both Foundation Apprenticeships (where school pupils work on real projects with our staff over a 2 year period during their final years at school) and Modern Apprenticeships (offering people the opportunity to learn on the job while working towards a qualification) across most disciplines within our organisation.
Edrington provides a range of development programmes from apprentices and graduates to senior managers, helping them build successful careers and helping us to identify our leaders of our future.
Each year we have a number of graduate opportunities, the purpose being to develop a pipeline of high potential future leaders who will help Edrington realise, meet and exceed its strategic ambitions. The programme provides an opportunity for graduates to be part of something exciting and challenging – building a career around great brands, exceptional values and passionate teams.
