An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Macallan Stock Planning team as Strategic Stock Planning Manager. The effective and sustainable usage of maturing whisky stock is a critical element of both short and long-term success of The Macallan brand. The Macallan Stock Planning team is responsible for ensuring whisky making decisions, brand strategy development and business growth plans are aligned to the maturing stock position over time.
The Strategic Stock Planning Manager plays a key role in assessing impacts under different scenarios, guiding the whisky making team, and informing operational planning decisions. This role is a key contributor to the overall spirit supply strategy for The Macallan.
Reporting to the Stock Planning and Allocations Manager, the key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing detailed stock modelling
- Advising the whisky making process on stock usage
- Supporting NPD and innovation decision making
- Supporting stock data and modelling information system development
To be successful in application for this role, you will have knowledge of statistical terms and techniques, planning and forecasting expertise, analytical skills and the ability to manage complexity. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using various software systems and have advanced MS Excel skills.
In addition to the technical aspects outlined above, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate complex data in an easy to understand way. Having the ability to define detailed strategies to enable business growth i.e. stock supply to meet business sales growth targets, is also a requirement. Previous experience in the whisky or premium spirits industry would be advantageous but not essential.
