An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Business Technology Project Manager to join the Business Technology team.
Reporting to the Head of Projects and Programme Management, the successful candidate will directly manage multiple key projects concurrently and provide guidance and support to other members of the Business Technology team. Projects typically involve multiple aspects as part of their scope including business processes, systems and technologies, project plans, risks, issues, stakeholder engagement and communications. Projects can be associated with delivery of highly visible new enabling technology to the business and/or to fixed business milestones which need to be achieved. Accordingly, the Project Manager will be able to bring focus, simplicity, adapting at pace and challenge to work collaboratively with all business stakeholders.
The overall pipeline of work for Business Technology currently includes circa 300 individual requests which vary significantly in technology, size, scope, risk and criticality. These seem to affect a complex eco-system of solutions for the business including but not limited to Enterprise ERP, BI, stock systems, digital workplace technologies and Cyber Security.
The Project Manager will be expected to co-ordinate an extended number of teams and functions both internally within Business Technology and across the entire global organisation together with working closely with senior stakeholders in Edrington and multiple external partners. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the holistic set-up of projects, requiring detailed planning, priority-setting, issue resolution and decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creation and management of delivery against the project plan within timeline and budget
- Continual management of project team resources
- Proactive management of RAID log which affect achieving overall objectives. Take decisions required and escalate to PCB /sponsors in a timely and clear manner
- Clear assessment and articulation of overall status
- Undertaking Quality Assurance of all deliverables to ensure overall objectives will be met
- Extended, proactive stakeholder engagement to ensure a successful transition
- Ensuring pragmatic alignment of Edrington Programme Management policies and procedures
- Stakeholder management and communication
- Building strong stakeholder relationships across all affected countries from the Exec level down
- Working closely with the Global/Regional/ LOC teams to understand requirements
- Lead communication of decisions and relevant information to impacted departments
- Working with strategic partners and 3rd practices to deliver all relevant aspects required
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent with CA or similar qualification desirable. You will be technically sound, with strong business acumen in the FMCG space, and possess strong project management skills. You will also have a proven track record of working with external delivery partners across distributed sites.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience setting up and leveraging Agile/Scrum based delivery approaches. The ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner at all levels is essential, as is previous experience of managing IT projects commensurate to this level of role.
