Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of HR, APAC, the Corporate Affairs Manager will be managing Edrington APAC’s regional communication agenda and will include a diverse range of activities including leading on corporate affairs, internal employee communication, sustainability and our important Giving More agenda. The role will also support the APAC leadership team and Global Corporate Affairs Director with specialist analysis, guidance, and communication to promote and protect the company’s reputation and commercial interests.

Job Description

  • Manage corporate communication across the APAC region.
  • Strategic planning and execution of innovative internal and external communications (traditional, digital and key presentations) to promote and protect Edrington’s corporate reputation and commercial interests in APAC.
  • Lead and develop an innovative and engaging regional employee communication plan in collaboration with the Regional Managing Director and Head of HR.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as APAC leadership team, HR, Finance, Marketing, Legal to implement effective communication strategies to build and enhance employer brand awareness in the region via communication materials (social media, websites, newsletters, presentations, townhalls, corporate events, press releases and any other distribution channels).
  • Develop and manage the CSR strategy in APAC, with an emphasis on Sustainability and Giving More, and supporting and sharing best practices with other members of Corporate Affairs on CSR activities.
  • Supporting Global Corporate Affairs on the company’s internal and external communications, including the annual and quarterly reporting of results.
  • Supervise local brand protection initiatives against counterfeit through liaison with industry resource (AACS), liquid testing, and close links with the Legal team in Shanghai and Scotland.
  • Build strong relationship with various internal and external stakeholders as well as media representatives to obtain optimal exposure.
  • Lead on crisis and reputation management issues in APAC, with the support of global Corporate Affairs and Legal as required.

Skills and Experience

  • A recognised University Degree, preferably in Communications or a related field.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience and prior experience in agency and/or corporate.
  • Strong command of spoken and written communication in English and Mandarin.
  • Proven track record in strategic communications (both internal and external and traditional and digital), including experience of working with external communications and event management companies.
  • Strong understanding of APAC and drinks industry trade media landscape with an understanding of the international political and policy/regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrate strong ethics and sound judgement, with an awareness and understanding of cultural differences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and expertise in handling business critical relationships, including the media, and other interest groups including professional organisations and government.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and creativity to develop engaging and exciting communications for employee engagement.
  • Experience in brand and company commercial dynamics including a working knowledge of key financial metrics.
  • Identify and deal with new challenges, embracing change and innovation while adhering to Edrington’s values.
