As the Retail Excellence Manager for The Macallan, you will be the architect and guardian of that experience. You will lead the strategy and execution for our physical retail network—from our flagship Boutiques and Galleries in Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Beijing to our future expansion into new epicurean hubs across the country.
This is a pivotal, high-visibility role that fuses operational mastery with creative marketing vision. You will be responsible for transforming our retail spaces into the ultimate destinations for whisky connoisseurs and the epicentre of The Macallan’s cultural relevance in China. By bridging global experiential retail standards with the unique nuances of the local market, you will drive client recruitment, deepen HNWI relationships, and ensure every touchpoint reflects the peerless heritage of The Macallan.

1. Luxury Retail Operations
You will set the benchmark for operational excellence across our retail portfolio.
Partner & Mall Ecosystem: Cultivate strategic, collaborative relationships with operational partners and premier mall landlords to ensure seamless daily operations, optimal staffing, and strict adherence to luxury service protocols.
Precision Management: Oversee every detail of the in-store environment, including product coordination, hospitality service flow, and facilities management, ensuring our spaces consistently operate at the highest standard.
2. Client Experience Management
You will design and uphold a seamless, unforgettable journey for our clients, both offline and online.
Omnichannel Orchestration: Collaborate with key stakeholders (CRM, Digital, PCRM) to map and execute a flawless client journey that honours the brand’s 200-year heritage across all channels.
Flagship Stewardship: Act as the final gatekeeper for visual merchandising, POSM, and ambiance, ensuring flawless execution aligned with global brand guidelines.
3. Retail Marketing & Brand Activations
You will position The Macallan as China’s definitive luxury whisky destination through high-impact, culturally resonant activations.
Activation Strategy: Conceptualize and execute a dynamic calendar of retail marketing activations across all outlets.
4. Client Development & Strategic Partnerships
You will drive commercial success by recruiting the right clients and forging the right alliances.
HNWI Engagement: Work in lockstep with the PCRM team to identify and attract High-Net-Worth Individuals.
DTC Optimization: Maximize the performance of Direct-to-Consumer channels by strategically allocating marketing resources to upgrade client engagement and drive conversion.
5. Expansion & Stakeholder Management
You will be the driving force behind the brand’s physical expansion and the central hub for cross-functional collaboration.
Market Expansion: Lead retail development initiatives for new city entries.
Your Talent and Skills
Experience & Background:

- Education: University graduate or above; degree in Business, Marketing, or Hospitality Management preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operational marketing or retail management within the luxury sector.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in driving footfall, client recruitment, and commercial results through the creation of exceptional, high-touch experiences.
- Industry Essential: Must possess deep experience in luxury retail. Backgrounds in luxury spirits, luxury fashion/accessories, high-end watches/jewellery, or 5-star luxury hospitality are highly desired.
