Position Summary

Under the guidance and supervision of Senior Customer Marketing, GTR/ North Asia, working together with GTR Marketing and Commercial Manager(s), Regional & Domestic marketing teams, the Customer Marketing Manager GTR/China will be primarily responsible in developing brand growth plan and marketing strategies, formulation and execution of launch plans, trade marketing programs and activities, in order to secure growth in sales revenue and business profit, while ensuring A&P spend is kept within given budget.

 

Other key deliverables include marketing support for The Macallan Boutique & SIS, Permanent Visibility and GTR Digital Transformation (Digital Marketing, E-Commerce Strategy and Project Affinity).

 

This role is required to work in close partnerships with external parties (retailers and vendors) and internal teams from the GTR Commercial team, GTR Central Marketing/Create team, Supply Chain and Finance.

Job Description

Customer Marketing

  • Together with the Senior Customer Marketing Manager, GTR North Asia and GTR Commercial Managers, assist in development and execution of yearly trade marketing programs and activities consistent with GTR brand strategies, while adhering to markets’ business objectives, commercial needs and A&P budgets.
  • Monthly review and evaluation of customer marketing programs and activities for effectiveness and efficiency; Make recommendations of brand initiatives and tactical promotions required to improve sell-out performance.
  • Support Retail Team in executing Operational Guidelines, Visual Merchandising Guidelines and POSM Implementations targeted at the GTR environment and shopper profile (e.g. product glorifier, product signage, special message signage, price tags)

Brand Management and Operational Marketing

  • Aligned to Global Brand Team and GTR growth plans, responsible for development of brand growth plans and marketing strategies, executions of innovation launch plans and marketing activations of The Macallan, to drive brand power and brand growth in volume, NSV and profit.
  • Assist all Brand Leads in Customer Marketing team to provide the following: 
  • Commercial: Support GTR Commercial Team with marketing tools e.g., Retailers’ Presentation, Product Sell Sheets, Brand Assets, Launch Directives, Training Materials (customized to retailers), Consumer Event proposals/support. 
  • Education & Training: Support Customer Marketing Manager in Simplified Chinese adaptations of brand educational modules and materials.
  • Product Launch Management: For A Launches only, support Post-Launch Analysis and Report with sell-in and sell-out data, trade and consumer feedback, market activation KPIs of owned customer groups to capture learnings for future improvement.
  • GTR Digital Strategy & Project Affinity
  • Support The Macallan Brand Lead Customer Marketing Manager in the planning and execution of GTR Digital Marketing/social media strategy.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary education. University graduate with bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience in Luxury Goods and Services and / or FMCG. Travel Retail & Duty-Free background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in China digital/social media and competency in digital marketing tools.
  • Good presentation and communication skills. Commercially driven with strong analytical skill
  • Well-organized, meticulous, detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to handle multiple / diverse tasks while able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pro-active, good team player and independent with strong dedication to result. Ability to build relationship and garner support across functional teams. Experience in leading a team preferred.
  • Competency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in Chinese language is mandatory.
