Embrace Excellence

The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of retail and commercial growth plans across Hainan and South China. The role owns the execution of regional commercial initiatives, manages the BC team, and develops strong partnerships with key retailers to deliver sales growth, premium brand execution, and exceptional consumer experiences.

Working cross-functionally with Account, CMM, Brand Education and Supply Chain teams, the incumbent supports annual business planning, investment management, new product launches, and market expansion initiatives. The role is expected to leverage strong commercial acumen, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities to identify growth opportunities, enhance retail performance, and contribute to the delivery of regional business objectives.

Make an Impact

  • Support the delivery of commercial and retail development initiatives across Hainan and South China in line with regional business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers/stores and support the development of strategic partnerships in key locations.
  • Support the development and execution of annual business plans for key retailers and stores, including commercial discussions, promotional planning, investment evaluation and performance reviews.
  • Lead new product launches, portfolio expansion initiatives, and market development opportunities across Hainan and South China, ensuring strong commercial execution and achievement of business objectives.
  • Manage and develop the regional BC team, setting clear objectives, driving capability development, and fostering a high-performance culture to deliver exceptional consumer experiences and business results.
  • Own retail excellence across boutiques, SIS locations, and key retail touchpoints by ensuring best-in-class standards in visibility, consumer engagement, merchandising, and brand execution
  • Collaboration with Account, Marketing, Brand Education, and external agency partners to deliver integrated commercial and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure effective inventory management and product availability by working closely with retailer, internal stakeholders, and customer marketing teams to optimize stock levels and sales performance.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives across South China, providing recommendations to support the region's long-term growth objectives.

Your Talent and Skills

  • Strong experience in Commercial, Sales, Retail Development, Travel Retail, Duty Free, Luxury, Wines & Spirits, or FMCG industries. Travel Retail and Duty-Free experience is preferred.
  • Proven commercial professional with a strong track record of driving business growth through customer development, retail excellence, and effective execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage ambiguity, and consistently deliver business objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Good commercial acumen with experience supporting annual business planning, business forecasting, performance analysis, and investment evaluation.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and actively identifies opportunities to enhance team capability, ways of working, and business performance.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing frontline teams, with the ability to build engagement, accountability and high performance.
