The Chain Manager manages all Edrington sales performance and brand priorities in local and national chains (most notably Bevmo and Costco West) through distributor programming and account executive planning. Responsible for influencing the distributor sales/merchandising group(s) and account executives to drive Edrington strategic imperatives and focus brands in chain channel. Work closely with their Edrington counterparts and distributor teams, to deliver short-term results and build long-term brand value. Key pillars of the position include Distributor Account Executive Planning by chain/club account, Brand Building Execution, Pricing Strategy. Chain Manager will play a key role as liaison between distributor account executives and Edrington local commercial teams to communicate channel programs.

Make an Impact

 

  • Understand the strategic direction for the assigned territory across relevant channels and segments with emphasis on Macallan and Breakthrough Brands’ activation to support brand development
  • Act as chain expert at the market level and manage day to day performance through VIP and/or distributor information resources and syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI)
  •  
  • Monitor chain/club account progress versus program objectives and implement course correction where necessary (pricing, POS, allocations, timelines)
  • Assist in communicating the Strategic Direction and Edrington priorities to Distributor Sales Teams at the local level. Instil belief and create buy-in throughout distributor teams
  • Work effectively with Trade Marketing team and orchestrate channel sell-through activities to include, POS, display, shelf, and lock box standards
  • Understand how to optimize allocation of Edrington and Distributor resources (including LMF if applicable) against portfolio brand standards within the assigned territory
  • Drive leading global luxury and super premium brands to deliver yearly depletion and profit growth while simultaneously engaging in long term brand building activities
  • Create annual account plans by brand, by customer, leveraging local allocations and brand priorities
  • Support the continued evolution of the Edrington Americas business to develop gold-standard organizational capabilities while leveraging distributor execution capabilities
  • Deliver against depletion targets, grow brand value to deliver the annual profit plan within the assigned accounts
  • Distributor Management: Build exceptional business relationships, drive brand focus, manage performance & delivery, and provide leading customer service
  • Trade & Consumer/Activation: Develop, institute, execute and participate in brand events that align with brand strategy where possible in the chain/club channel
  • Pricing Management: Understand the local pricing strategy and maintain an active awareness of competitive activity. Communicate pricing through local division office for approval
  • Supply Chain & Compliance: Deliver against the allocation strategy, supporting exceptional customer service, and ensure legal compliance across the assigned channel/territory

Your Talent and Skills

 

  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience Previous industry experience a plus, but not required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a fast-growing FMCG environment, Alcohol Beverage Industry experience is highly desirable or luxury brand experience
  • Passion for super premium brown spirits
  • Motivated self-starter, gregarious personality, articulate, charismatic, polished, and professional
  • Ability to manage a broad network of internal and external partners
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set and a positive attitude when facing opportunities and challenges
  • Exceptional organizational & planning skills
  • Adept at networking, selling, and interacting with diverse groups of people
  • Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills
  • Chain/club HQ experience is desired
  • Ability to work independently, manage a personal schedule, think creatively
  • Distributor management experience is preferred
  • Role requires evening and weekend coverage – it is a full-time role with non-standard hours
  • Commercial experience is desired, marketing experience a plus
  • Strong organizational awareness and the ability to manage complexity required
  • Knowledge of syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Overnight travel required as needed to conduct job function
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
