Position Summary

 

The Macallan Brand Ambassador’s role is to engage and build strategic partnerships with top influencer groups, consumers and media, by bringing The Macallan “world” to life. They are required to inspire, educate, and recruit these audiences with unique and impactful experiences.

 

As a secondary focus, The Macallan Brand Ambassador supports major brand initiatives, and helps deliver targeted portfolio performance.

 

The role will involve extensive event hosting and travel within the region of location, and to Scotland to liaise with the global brand and distillery teams and host key influencer visits. It is vital that The Macallan Brand Ambassador embodies the essence of the brand in both appearance, behavior and delivery of key brand messages.

Job Description

 

The Brand Ambassador is the face of The Macallan brand in LA and responsible for the education and engagement of consumers, influencer groups, media and internal/external stakeholders, including Edrington commercial teams.  They will help to drive an increase in The Macallan’s ‘salience’, as measured by established tracking tools.

 

  • Acting as our in-market authority on The Macallan brand and whisky category by conducting whisky tastings and hosting unique brand experiences.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of experiential events and implementing The Macallan’s internal and consumer engagement platform.
  • Acting as our in-market authority on The Macallan brand and whisky category by conducting whisky tastings and hosting unique brand experiences.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of experiential events and implementing The Macallan’s internal and consumer engagement platform.
  • Influencer engagement in their Key City.
  • Building influencer networks, including collectors and professional groups, captured on The Macallan’s CRM tool.
  • Creating and developing a The Macallan social media following, adhering to brand social media guidelines and plans.
  • Working with The Macallan Marketing and Education teams to implement a range of marketing activations and communications that are in line with brand DNA and objectives.
  • Collaborating with The Macallan Global Education Program Manager and actively contributing as part of the global education and marketeer network.
  • Identifying key brand building initiatives for The Macallan in collaboration with local commercial teams.
  • Find, inspire and build influencer networks to maximize exposure for the brand.
  • Establish and maintain a network with current and potential consumers of The Macallan
  • Seek out, plan and execute experiential and education events.
  • Build a strong social media presence to leverage exposure of the brand.
  • Manage T&E and activation budgets.

Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent gained via work experience within the luxury category
  • Experience working with luxury brand(s) and their clientele
  • Socially connected with Influencer communities in key markets
  • Advanced social media skills (Facebook, Instagram etc)
  • Category, brand and portfolio strategy expertise
  • A natural networker with inspiring public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • High net worth individual interaction and influence methods
  • Previous experience as a Brand Ambassador
  • Luxury spirits industry or hospitality experience
  • Exposure in the world’s most influential bars and hotels
  • Alcohol industry or advanced bartending/service qualifications
  • Fluency in additional languages
  • Formal Media training
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be atleast 21 years of age
  • Eligible to work in US
