Embrace Excellence

The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and be a key member of Corporate finance team. This role will be responsible for handling general accounting and financial analysis on operations and taking charge of month end/year end closing processes. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and an analytical ability to interpret data. Role requires excellent understanding of different financial accounting systems and practices and the ability to evaluate and diagnose key trends in the business. The ideal candidate needs to be capable of managing multiple priorities and ensuring internal and external deadlines are met. Ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly with different groups within the company as well as outside of the company. The ideal person will be comfortable working in a lean structure and take initiatives and drive positive process changes across the business.

Make an Impact

  • Lead overheads analysis, forecasting and variance reporting across personnel, benefits, travel, office and team costs.
  • Prepare budget, forecast and reporting submissions, including risk, opportunity and bridge analysis.
  • Own distributor margin adjustment reporting and analysis (SEG, BDF, LMF).
  • Provide insights on trade spend effectiveness and marketing investment performance.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, recharges, cost analysis and reconciliations.
  • Manage POS and merchandising accounting, including warehouse costs, reclassifications and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and manage transfer pricing across actuals, budgets and forecasts.
  • Reconcile US accounts against UK Global P&L and investigate accounting variances and issues.
  • Support monthly reporting with balance sheet commentary and financial performance analysis.
  • Analyse shipment, depletion, logistics and selling cost data to support commercial decision-making.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting and system integrity.
  • Support internal and external audits, GAAP compliance, and sales and use tax reporting.
  • Develop, test and improve financial controls, processes and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-functional projects as required.

Your Talent and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
  • CPA is preferred
  • Demonstratable experience in mid-large size corporate finance environment or public accounting firm
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong background in financial statement planning and analytics required
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including experience with Macro’s and data manipulation
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with all levels of the organization
  • Experience building financial statement models from scratch
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
