The Payroll and Benefits Lead ensures seamless payroll, benefits, and compliance operations. This role directly impacts employee well-being and satisfaction by managing payroll processing, immigration compliance, and developing comprehensive benefits programs. This role is accountable for maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, leading HR and payroll internal and external audits, and partnering with Finance to uphold strong internal controls.
In addition, the role drives the development of HR policies, owns the employee handbook, and leads compliance trainings across the organization. It also supports with salary benchmarking and Total Rewards education, helping build a reliable, consistent, and trusted HR infrastructure that supports business continuity and growth.
Make an Impact
- Payroll management: Ensures timely and accurate payroll processing for US employees, resulting in consistent on-time payments. Guarantees compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, minimizing legal risks and enhancing financial accuracy.
- Data accuracy: Maintain the integrity of HR systems by upholding high standards for data and position management, ensuring accurate and reliable HR information that supports decision-making.
- HR Policies: Drive the regular review and updates of Employee Handbooks and HR policies, ensuring they remain compliant with local laws and reflect best practices, thereby fostering a legally sound and progressive workplace.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA. Oversee and track completion of compliance training (e.g., harassment prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and others required.
- Audits and Reporting: Coordinate and timely complete governmental and audit compliance reporting: EEO1, Form 5500, OSHA Forms, Workers Comp, Form 941, Form W2 and Form 1099.
- Global Mobility: Manage regional immigration and visa compliance, ensuring seamless global employee transfers and legal compliance.
- Budget Management: In partnership with the Head of HR, Global Reward and Finance develop and manage the benefits budget, ensuring cost control and financial sustainability.
- Benefits Administration: Manage the administration of all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other voluntary benefits, ensuring comprehensive coverage and enhancing employee satisfaction and well-being.
- Vendor Management: In partnership with Global Reward, manage relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
- Employee Communication: Create and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options and any program changes, ensuring they are well-informed and able to make the best decisions for their personal and financial well-being.
- Open Enrollment: Plan and execute the annual open enrollment process, including the preparation of materials, conducting informational sessions, and assisting employees with their selections.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze benefits data to monitor trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Annual reward cycle: In collaboration with the Global Reward team prepare data for annual salary review and performance bonus payout, provides training to managers and employees, support with Total Rewards Statements.
- Salary benchmarking: Support the Global Reward team preparing and facilitating data for salary benchmarking

Your Talent and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
- Experience in payroll management, including supervisory experience.
- Expertise on multi-state payroll, US labor regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in benefits design and administration.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective vendor and stakeholder management.
- Upholds confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and responsibility.
- Must be located in the NY Metro Area.
- Must be over 21 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
