Position Summary

The Director of Regional Insights & Analytics is responsible for the overall commercial and brand reporting of the Americas region performance, analysing and providing key stakeholders with business insights (category, commercial, consumer) to help shape our strategy, and embedding the necessary capabilities (digital architecture, suppliers, agencies, etc.) to enable this.

Leading a community of analysts across the region and managing the vast information resources in the business, this role will be instrumental in how the regional team and its multiple stakeholders work together, providing a consolidated and cohesive narrative and understanding about performance, category and consumer insight, utilising data and insights to reveal trends and opportunities within the business for the markets to build on, and further refine our strategies.

This position sits on the regional marketing team and operates as a functional support to the markets. As part of this remit, this role will oversee 2 pillars, regional analytics, and consumer insight, ensuring the successful piping of data across various markets and enabling the necessary visibility for regional leaders to make strategic decisions and investments for the business.

Job Description

● Responsible for the analysis and communication of business insights and performance (category, commercial, consumer) to key stakeholders in the organization. The role will also be responsible for determining the right set of supporting KPI and metrics.

● Ownership of regional commercial and marketing scorecard, a performance matrix of all the regions and functions across the Americas business:

○ Lead in the development and integration of the scorecard, leveraging internal technical capabilities and, if required, working on technical development with external consultants and stakeholders around the business

○ Communicate the tool’s purpose and source data to key stakeholders

○ Ensuring that that the data is reliable and insightful during key performance meetings

○ Providing analysis / commentary and insight around the interpretation and implications of the data and metrics, for the key stakeholders to take action (providing the “so what?”).

● Ownership of the regional digital commercial and marketing dashboard, a real time measurement of Edrington’s brands performance and health online:

○ Lead in the development and integration of the dashboard, leveraging internal technical capabilities and, if required, working on technical development with external consultants and stakeholders around the business

○ Getting buy in across the business and ensuring stakeholder are aligned on KPI’s and familiar with the data sources

○ Managing a team that will ensure the day-to-day reliability functionality and reliability of the data

○ Providing analysis / commentary and insight around the interpretation and implications of the data and metrics, for the key stakeholders to take action (providing the “so what?”).


Regional Consumer Insights Agenda

  • Aligning methodology and roll out of global brand health tracking tools (Millward Brown BHT, Trade tracker, etc.)
  • Implementing globally led but regionally relevant ad hoc studies (ie: Cultural understanding, prestige consumer, etc)
  • Assessing the regional consumer insights needs with the markets and managing the process to deliver solutions to these (agency mapping, briefing, management of ad hoc insights projects, scoping of new methodologies, etc).
  • Evaluation of a regional data lake which will house data across various sources and systems within the Americas business unit, and leadership in its development in case the project is approved; partner with global counterparts to ensure alignment with overarching IT and brand strategies
  • Lead a team (and indirectly a broader network) of analytics and insights professionals across various functions within the region to ensure that global/regional projects are properly delegated and ensuring there is consistency in ways of working across markets. Mentor and upskill junior analytics and insights professionals to strengthen the overall analytics capabilities in the Americas
  • Continually optimize the reporting infrastructure between regions and markets to facilitate a monthly / quarterly reporting cadence
    • Lead strategic presentations and projects as needed; Key contributor to the annual PSR (performance and strategy review) with the Edrington Board, and expected to present during key strategic meetings as needed
  • Contribute to global projects, as and when required


  • Contributing member of the Regional Marketing team, with strong exposure to the Americas Executive Leadership Team
  • Responsible for leading the analytics and insight agenda in the Americas, strongly connected to the individual markets’ leadership and Marketing teams.
  • Stakeholder management on both the Global side (through reporting issued to Global leadership) and local side (by connecting with relevant teams to shape narrative across market, channel, consumer and both our commercial and financial performance).
  • This role will require strong leadership skills and an ability to shape a strategic view of the business in order to engage with senior leadership

Skills and Experience

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • 10+ Years experience in an digital analytics, business intelligence or consumer insights role – either agency or client-side commensurate to this level of role
  • Experience managing high performing teams and matrix reporting across multiple stakeholders from different functional areas (marketing, sales, finance).
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, synthetize, and present data in an engaging and inspiring way
  • Strategic thinking – ability to analyse information and identify conclusions and implications
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to build strong working relationships with people throughout the business and partner agencies
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of analytics, creative, digital media, and change management projects
  • Proficiency with analytic tools such as Data Studio, Power BI, Google Analytics, and Facebook Business Manager (Experience running a digital agency a plus)
  • Proficiency with SQL or Python is a plus
  • Academic background in statistics, data science, economics, or other quantitative / analytical field
