Position Summary

 

The Americas is the largest region for Edrington globally, driven by the USA, which is the largest Edrington market worldwide. Led by The Macallan, the world’s most desired Single Malt Scotch Whisky and luxury spirit, Edrington Americas boasts a leading portfolio of ultra-premium spirits brands across several categories, while also charged with the focus markets for the company’s strategic brands: Highland Park, The Glenrothes, Wyoming Whiskey, Brugal 1888 and No. 3 London Dry Gin. To achieve Edrington Americas Omnichannel transformational ambition, the Digital Commerce Manager for Owned Channels and Technology Manager will oversee e-commerce strategy, execution, and performance across Edrington’s owned channels including brand.com, social and the DTC route to market.

 

The role will report to Senior Digital Commerce and Technology Manager and will be responsible for building and implementing the e- commerce roadmap for the US market across the portfolio to continually optimize the user experience and promote purchasing from Edrington’s owned channels. The person will work collaboratively across many teams including marketing, commercial excellence, commercial, operations, legal and finance to drive multiple site experience projects and align Digital Commerce with existing brand plans for a seamless consumer experience. The role will be responsible for developing new customer acquisition and retention programs, identifying, and acting on business development opportunities, and using analytics to continually evolve Edrington’s owned e-commerce channels.

Job Description

Digital Commerce Manager for Owned Channels and Technology Manager will oversee the daily operations of Edrington’s brand.com and social commerce in the US across all brands. The person will be responsible for optimizing the user experience and accelerating growth.
 

  • Manage, monitor and update brand.com pages, overseeing the timely upload, quality and accuracy of product descriptions, images, and videos
  • Fix digital content issues, and continually optimize content and merchandizing to improve user benefit and conversion
  • Audit brand websites to identify issues and follow up with resolutions
  • Propose UX enhancements and work with internal and external stakeholders on implementation
  • Collaborate with local brand teams and global to pilot and test projects in the US
  • Manage project timelines and resources
  • Continuously question the status quo and produce other ways to upgrade and differentiate the user experience e.g. packaging, fulfilment options, virtual experiences, gifts with purchase, merchandising, etcLead the relationship between the GDT and the US, facilitating seamless collaboration
  • Ensure local market teams understand processes for effective project implementation and delivery, in line with Global policies and procedures
  • Guide local brand teams in raising projects with global counterparts, emphasizing GDPR and data processing compliance
  • Act as a conduit for project requirements from local teams, recommending globally developed technologies for tailored use cases
  • Enhance efficiency by aligning local teams with proven global technologies
  • Bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution for sustained success
  • Collaborate with the marketing and global digital teams on activation calendars, assets, offerings, promotions, and briefs
  • Work with global e-commerce team to align on broader e-commerce objectives, roadmaps and strategies that can be translated for each market
  • Build and maintain an integrated launch calendar with full tracking of product launches, media campaigns, newsletters, and all aspects of a successful e-commerce launch

  • Communicate all programming to internal and external stakeholders e.g. operations, commercial, customer service and shopping technology provider for full awareness of online activity. Provide follow-up support, as necessary.
  • Continuously monitor what is driving traffic and conversion for the different brands on owned channels, as well as trends, opportunities, and issues. Make recommendations on how to recruit new consumers and grow spend among existing ones.
  • Work with brand teams and agencies and provide inputs on coordinated marketing plans across paid owned and earned media channels, from brief to campaign evaluation
  • Monitor and review performance for marketing efforts across channels (Search, Shopping, Display, Paid Social, Digital Video) linking back to owned channels
  • Work closely with the relevant global CRM managers, local brand managers and agencies to build customer programs and activities to increase conversion and retention
  • In partnership with brand teams and agencies create and deploy targeted brand communications including newsletters and direct messaging etc.
  • Collect and analyze information to segment customers and deliver relevant offers and communications
  • Manage product allocation, forecast, and assortment for brand.com
  • Work with shopping technology provider, operations, commercial and distributor partners to monitor pricing, manage inventory levels and ensure timely stock replenishment
  • Continuously monitor and address customer service issues, to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Work with a dedicated analyst to analyze business performance and identify opportunities to maximize on-site sales and engagement on an ongoing basis
  • Work with in-house and external agencies to identify optimization opportunities and share best practices and learns across all brands
  • Review product availability and stock forecast to help make informed, strategic decisions on site placement and promotion

Skills and Experience

 

  • 5+ years related functional experience in digital merchandising, marketing, and analytics
  • Proven track record of delivering a range of projects based on scope, timeline, cost, and quality
  • Familiarity with UX design principles
  • Ability to translate brand vision and objectives to the online channel and execute strategies that lead the brands towards that vision
  • Ambition and drive to achieve retail growth targets
  • Entrepreneurial and solution driven, with the ability to think creatively and bring new and fresh ideas to help accelerate the business in owned channels
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with Google Analytics, with proven ability to turn insights into action
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task successfully and strategically, and operate in a fast-paced environment with agility and accuracy
  • Highly accountable, demonstrating ownership of programs and unprompted follow-through
  • Ability to communicate, influence and collaborate cross functionally with a wide group of people from all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relay complex ideas and processes in a simplified manner
