Embrace Excellence
The Macallan Brand Ambassador’s role in Nairobi, Kenya is to recruit, inspire, engage and manage consumers through unique and impactful experiences. Additional responsibilities include sourcing and developing luxury partnerships for unique and meaningful opportunities and strengthening strategic relationships with distributors and other agencies (Media and Experiential).
As a secondary focus, The Macallan Brand Ambassador assists with the localisation and implementation of major brand initiatives, and helps deliver targeted portfolio performance and, where needed, supports trade education in priority accounts.
The role will involve extensive event hosting, private client management, reporting and relevant admin. There is a potential need for travel within the region, and on occasion to Scotland to liaise with the global brand and distillery teams and hosting of Estate visits.
It is vital that The Macallan Brand Ambassador embodies the essence of the brand in both appearance, behaviour and delivery of key brand messages.
Make an Impact
- Act as the in‑market authority for The Macallan and the wider whisky category, delivering tastings and memorable brand experiences.
- Support the planning and execution of experiential and luxury events across priority markets.
- Represent The Macallan at key media, trade and consumer events, partnering closely with the Regional Edrington Marketing team.
- Build and manage Private Client relationships, identifying high‑potential consumers and maintaining records through CRM tools.
- Develop strong, trust‑based relationships with Distributor teams, including Key Account Managers and Marketing partners.
- Identify commercial opportunities and adapt global “DTC” and brand strategies to fit local distributor ways of working.
- Work with local Marketing and Commercial teams to deliver brand‑aligned activations and ensure strong ROI.
- Contribute to the global Macallan Ambassador community, sharing market insights and supporting global education initiatives.
- Manage relevant T&E and activation budgets while ensuring full compliance with consumer data protection.
- Proactively build networks, lead education and experiential initiatives, and champion brand‑building activities within market.
Your Talent and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will bring luxury‑sector experience, strong brand and category understanding, and confidence engaging high‑net‑worth clients. You’ll be fluent in English, tech‑savvy in presentations, experienced with CRM tools, and capable of leading, mentoring, and working independently with a strong sense of ownership. Excellent presentation, networking, influencing, and organisational skills are essential, along with eligibility to work in Kenya and adherence to responsible alcohol marketing guidelines. Experience as a Brand Ambassador, luxury spirits or hospitality exposure, whisky passion, industry qualifications, additional languages, and familiarity with influential venues are all valuable advantages.
