This role is part of the India finance team. As a region, India is a highly volatile, dynamic and high-risk region. The role reports to the Finance Controller and is responsible for credit control, treasury and banking, responsibility for month end tasks and GL ownership and liaising with various 3rd parties. Further analytical support and reporting will be required to support the Finance Controller and the business more generally.
Make an Impact
· Own and manage the end-to-end credit control process for India
· Maintain accurate customer account records (payments, credit terms, limits, insurance)
· Monitor overdue balances, proactively chase payments, and produce AR reporting and cash flow forecasts
· Apply sound judgement to manage credit risk, including negotiating solutions with customers
· Control credit release of sales orders and enforce robust credit policies
· Act as key liaison with credit insurers, managing policy conditions, coverage, and premiums
· Conduct regular reviews of customer credit limits and adjust coverage as required
· Perform timely bank and petty cash postings and reconciliations
· Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities
· Support month-end close through accurate journal postings, GL maintenance, and asset accounting
· Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including Shared Services, auditors, and distributors
· Ensure procurement compliance and controls, with particular focus on higher-risk spend areas (e.g. A&P)
Your Talent and Skills
We’re looking for someone with a strong accounting background, ideally part-qualified (ACCA, CA, CMA or a post-graduate qualification in Finance), who brings hands-on experience in credit control and is confident managing processes end to end. You’ll be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy, able to work at pace while staying calm under pressure and meeting deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as you’ll be building relationships with a range of stakeholders, and you should feel comfortable working in a cross-cultural, global environment. Experience with SAP would be an advantage, though not essential, and fluency in English—both written and spoken—is a must.
We’ve put together some criteria that we think is important for this role, but don’t worry if your experience and expertise isn’t an exact match. If you feel that you can add value to our role and to Edrington more broadly, we would welcome your application and be eager to learn more about you.
