Embrace Excellence

The Senior Freight & Logistics Manager is accountable for the end‑to‑end management of global freight operations across sea, rail, road, and air. The role is responsible for the development and execution of global freight strategies that balance cost, service, risk, and sustainability objectives.

This position leads strategic relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, hauliers, and 3PL partners, including contract negotiation, capacity management, and performance governance. The role also ensures full compliance with UK and international shipping legislation and export requirements, supports delivery of sustainability targets, and provides clear, accurate monthly KPI reporting to senior stakeholders.

Make an Impact

  • Own end‑to‑end freight operations, including shipment planning, carrier/3PL management, routing/mode selection, and compliance/documentation.
  • Control budgets and spend with forecasting, cost‑to‑serve oversight, and KPI tracking/reporting.
  • Drive cost savings and continuous improvement while balancing service, risk, and sustainability objectives.
  • Manage disruptions, risks (fuel, FX, market volatility), and regulatory changes with contingency planning and alternative solutions.
  • Align logistics with demand, production, and commercial activity (launches, promotions, changes) through cross‑functional coordination.
  • Lead performance management and decision‑making, including issue escalation/resolution, prioritisation, approvals (spend, claims, improvements), and data‑driven insights to leadership.

Your Talent and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will bring senior-level experience in freight and logistics, ideally within shipping, forwarding, and excise goods environments. You will have strong knowledge of customs and excise regulations, UK transport regulations, and global Incoterms, along with experience operating in AEO-compliant environments and managing 3PLs and external suppliers. You will demonstrate strong negotiation skills when working with carriers and logistics partners, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to engage the right stakeholders at the right time. You hold a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or an equivalent field or have commensurate experience within a similar role. Relevant professional certifications are considered advantageous, and prior experience in the spirits industry seen as a plus.

This role operates within a Known Consignor environment, meaning that the successful candidate will be subject to more thorough background and security checks as part of the onboarding process.

We’ve put together some criteria that we think is important for this role, but don’t worry if your experience and expertise isn’t an exact match. If you feel that you can add value to our role and to Edrington more broadly, we will welcome your application and be eager to learn more about you.

*Applications close 12th June 2026 at midnight*
