Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our newly formed Prestige team in our Global Supply Chain as a Prestige Procurement Buyer. You will be a key member of the Prestige Procurement team and will have the opportunity to become the procurement lead on specific Prestige projects across The Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes and any other Prestige expression of the Edrington portfolio. The role will help develop new ways of working with supply partners and internal stakeholders to drive consistent service across our supply chain. Developing innovative technology solutions and greater integration with our supply partners will be key to the success, whilst ensuring internal communication channels are developed and maintained to help support decision making from our supply planning and production spine.

Job Description

This role will report into the Prestige Procurement Manager within the Direct Procurement team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the coordinating and maintaining the timely delivery of all Prestige materials to our bottling and finishing operations
  • Engage with, co-ordinate, plan and manage critical deliveries from our Prestige key supply partners, whilst building relationships with all new and existing artisan suppliers
  • Develop, implement and maintain Prestige project planners
  • Support the management of a total spend of >£7m per annum, across 10+ vendors, often in an artisanal capacity, but across a limited amount (relative) of high value premium components
  • Develop a new approach and ‘ways of working’ in procuring, producing and delivering quality prestige materials and our products
  • Part of a key team of ‘prestige’ operations, that will drive strategic vision and change, influencing at every level to ensure Edrington remains ‘the leading premium spirits supply chain - driven by quality and service’
  • Responsible for reviewing the Premium Packaging and Finishing (PP&F) production plan, including any exceptions to plan, to ensure the timely receipt of materials and share with supply partners where required
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with Category Procurement Managers, Production Planning, Production, Prestige Quality and our Warehouse teams
  • Working closely with Prestige Quality for the return of products to specific supply partners and liaising with the relevant internal departments (for example, Planning) regarding material availability because of any quality challenges
  • Control and manage general administration, for example, the raising of purchase orders for all prestige materials, process supplier invoice/resolve invoice queries etc.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have strong communication skills (written and verbal) across all levels of the business and will be self-discipline and comfortable in driving efforts to completion, especially in routine actions.  You will be determined and resilient, open to challenge the status quo positively and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, in order to provide clarity and guidance over complex situations.  You will have a positive mindset, with great attention to detail. You will be required to have excellent SAP or other ERP systems competence and will be IT literate, particularly in using PowerPoint and Excel.
