Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Global Supply Chain for the role of Production Support Manager – Manufacturing (Classic/Prestige) on Dayshift.  We are looking for an ambitious individual who will drive the Edrington Operational Excellence Strategy and contribute to the success of Global Supply Chain’s journey to Prestige and Manufacturing Industry Excellence recognition.  As we focus more on premium and luxury, we are at the beginning of our journey towards being recognised for World Class Manufacturing service and quality levels, therefore, require someone who is passionate about building and delivering Operational Excellence and wants to be part of something exciting and challenging.


Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager - Prestige or Manufacturing Manager - Classic, and in partnership with this role, the Production Support Manager (PSM) is accountable for supporting the development of strategical and tactical approaches to ensure the efficient and effective running of our Classic/Prestige bottling hall operation.


Day-to-day, this role must ensure the delivery of product to the quality, quantities and service levels required to meet the requirements of our customers, through the effective management and support of the core team of Team Leaders and Line teams (Circa 50+ staff) to achieve industry leading service and quality levels, shipment targets and reducing the overall cost per case, through leadership and operational excellence on all lines and areas of responsibility.

Job Description

  • Overall responsibility for key areas in production and a team of Team Leaders and operators on dayshift
  • Understand customers and brand strategic and operational requirements, and work towards meeting them through development and implementation of the Manufacturing strategy - OTIF
  • Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practice Standards and area targets are understood and worked towards
  • Ensure labour resources are in line with budget and utilisation
  • Develop a framework of Knowledge and Skills to deliver the strategy for Classic and Prestige
  • Deliver measurable department/area efficiency performance improvements via teams’ engagement in CI systems, tools and techniques, and team ownership of business KPIs
  • To maximise the effectiveness of production and labour utilisation
  • Develop a quality and service level mindset within the team that focuses on Operational Excellence and achieving the “best”
  • To develop and deliver Edrington’s OPEX philosophy engage with all team members to understand the business and personal benefits of continuous improvement using lean tools
  • Monitor and work to achieve budget targets for manufacturing focussing on quality, cost and delivery
  • Promote, develop and maintain a team culture that promotes and engages with business CI strategies
  • To define and promote safe working practices, actively participating in Health and Safety improvement meetings

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will Lead by example to set behavioural standards for themselves and team, aligned to GSC/Manufacturing OPEX standards, systems and strategy.  They will strategically & tactically work at the line to promote best practice and standards to create culture of high performing teams across manufacturing. It would be advantageous to have experience using current Tier meetings and management systems.
