Position Summary

Due to an internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer to join the Solution Delivery team which sits within the wider Business Technology Team at Edrington based in our Glasgow Head Office. The role will report to the Technology Services Lead and be a part of a small internal team.  This is primarily a (.Net/C#) software engineer role, with responsibilities that span an extensive suite of “Operational system” – their support, maintenance, and wider evolution. A key part of the role is the ability to progress full life cycle change from initial requirements, analysis, design, development, testing and release management – as well as incident resolution.

Job Description

Some other key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Platform Strategy, Architecture and Roadmap
    • Under the guidance of the area lead and technical architect, contribute to the wider team discussions and decisions on the strategic and architectural evolution of our systems
    • Assist in the wider effective communication of overall strategy, architecture & roadmaps
  • Change Management/Project Management/Delivery Management
    • Contribute to concurrent complex Projects, Change, Releases, investigations/analysis
    • Ensure effective change that preserves business continuity
  • Business Analysis and Investigation
    • Assist stakeholders in identifying, exploring, and understanding new opportunities or existing problems. Independently drive the analysis of complex change or issue resolution.
  • Technical Responsibilities
    • Effect full life-cycle change, including business and technical analysis, problem analysis, design, development, testing and release.
    • Proactively maintain the integrity of our data and systems

Skills and Experience

To take on the challenge of this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in IT/software engineering and have previous experience with demonstrable competency in .Net/C# and related technologies. You will be competent supporting and refining relational databases and have experience in design, implementation and support of databases using one or more of: Azure SQL, SQL Server on Prem, Dacpac, ORM’s. You will have the confidence and gravitas to partner with various stakeholders, contractors, and partners with a continuous improvement mindset.
