Following an internal talent move an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst – Whisky Stocks on a fixed term basis.
The principal objective is to support the Senior Finance Analyst - Whisky Stocks in providing a comprehensive and professional finance service to the Whisky Supply function encompassing activities in the areas of whisky stock maturation and costing, blending, warehousing, freight, whisky sales and purchases.
This position can offer the opportunity to work towards a finance qualification.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Make an Impact
- Month‑end, reporting & controls: Deliver Whisky Supply month‑end close, including cost reallocations, KPI roll‑forwards (age, cost, carrying costs, fillings), preparation and analysis of key reports (Balance Sheet, Trade Income, P&L, variances), reconciliations between TEG and SAP, and full review of whisky stock balance sheet accounts.
- Transactional processing & systems: Process and monitor whisky supply transactions in TESS and SAP, including purchase ledger invoices (whisky, freight), bulk and manual sales invoicing, warehouse rent invoicing, and maintenance of customer and charge master data.
- Stock accounting & costing: Support annual new fill and mature stock re‑costing exercises, carry cost uplifts, third‑party stock certification, stock counts (including year‑end), and thorough checking of annual rent invoices.
- Audit, compliance & stakeholder support: Prepare audit information, support external audits, liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders on financially impactful issues, assist Whisky Operations with ad‑hoc queries, and drive continuous process improvement.
- Planning & forecasting support: Assist the Senior Finance Analyst with budgeting, forecasting, and related analytical activities.
Your Talent and Skills
To be successful in the role you should have experience in financial transaction processing and be a qualified or part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or possess equivalent experience. You’ll bring a solid understanding of month‑end processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex financial data. You should be confident in assessing the impact of transactions on the P&L and balance sheet, with experience in financial reporting and advanced Excel capability. Knowledge of standard costing, stock management, and other key manufacturing finance concepts is essential, while familiarity with SAP is an advantage. You will also be able to identify when issues need to be escalated within the Global Supply Chain Finance team.
