Embrace Excellence
The Macallan Brand Specialist plays a vital role in driving trade engagement, enhancing the consumer experience, and increasing the brand's visibility. They work to establish strong relationships with key trade accounts, including premium retail accounts, and identify ways to engage with the trade through various activation mechanisms.
They are responsible for driving awareness of The Macallan in these accounts, and inspiring staff by broadening their knowledge and building their confidence to recommend and serve The Macallan to consumers. Through regular contact and relationships with beverage managers and bartenders, they will help deliver targeted portfolio performance according to account segmentation.
As a secondary focus, the Brand Specialist will lead and host trade events as well as support major brand initiatives where required, working closely with the local marketing leadership team. It is imperative that the Brand Specialist embodies the essence of the brand in both appearance, behaviour, luxury mindset, and delivery of key brand messages.
Make an Impact
Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager for The Macallan, the key responsibilities include;
- Acting as our in-market authority on The Macallan brand and whisky category, reflecting the brand image and eloquently delivering the brand messaging.
- Driving awareness and training of The Macallan commercial and trade partners, ensuring front of mind presence, and selling confidence of The Macallan at priority accounts.
- Actively managing a key account list (On Trade & Off Trade), reporting on performance, identifying opportunities and recommending change/ action as required.
- Building relationships and trust of key decision makers (e.g. beverage directors, head bartenders, bar staff).
- Conducting informative and inspiring staff trainings and tastings to ensure consistency of The Macallan messaging and recommendations to consumers.
Your Talent and Skills
To thrive in this role, you will have proven experience in the spirits and luxury marketplace/clientele and previous experience as brand activation specialist or experience working with key customer trade channels. A strong sense of ownership and pride, with the ability to work independently, you will be an inspiring public speaking and presentation skills. A creative and innovative thinker with a commercial mindset is essential. Due to the global nature of our business, fluency in English and one of the Nordic languages, Danish is a plus. A full clean driving licence for work travel purposes.
