Embrace Excellence

The role of the security officer is to provide effective physical security at The Macallan Estate, Glenrothes Distillery and our Parkmore warehousing site.  Security officers will make a significant contribution to the provision of a safe and secure environment for colleagues, guests and customers while they are on our sites, to the security of our buildings and grounds, and to the protection of our spirit stocks and other company assets. There will be a security officer presence at the Macallan Estate 24 hours a day, every day of the year, therefore this role will require shift patterns of early, late,night and weekend shifts. 

Make an Impact

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Standard Operating Procedures and Security Strategy for our Speyside sites
  • Monitor CCTV imagery in line with the requirements of GDPR and monitor our radio system
  • Manage our card- access system
  • Monitor fire alarm systems and intruder alarm, and investigate alarm activations and other occurrences
  • Deliver effective critical key management and provide an effective first-point-of-contact service for visitors to the Macallan Estate, in keeping with its status as a luxury destination
  • Conduct searches of people, vehicles and places and carry out foot and vehicle borne patrols of our Speyside sites
  • Maintain logs and keep accurate records
  • Support and assist Macallan Estate, distillery, warehousing, and other Edrington colleagues as required
  • Support managers in the event of critical incidents on any of our sites and support on-call managers, out-of-hours
  • Control site access and liaise with emergency services as required
  • Work closely with other members of the wider security team based at Great Western Road, Glasgow, to ensure the security of high value spirit being transported between sites

  • Travel between sites is crucial so must have a current UK driving licence

As this is a Known Consigner position within our business, the successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure check and complete the Known Consignor requirements as part of their pre-employment screening.
